High pressure tanning equipment got its name from the tanning lamp technology used. All true high pressure tanning systems utilize short quartz "HID" lamps filled with a very specific Metal Halogenide mixture that produces very high ultraviolet radiation (UVR) intensity levels. The pressure of the special gas inside the tanning lamp is higher than normal atmospheric pressure, but through the translation of the German phrase "Hoch Druks Brenner" High-velocity burners or High-pressure burners the term "High Pressure tanning" was coined.
Low pressure tanning equipment was coined in much the same way, by default. The difference is that the lamps used in low pressure tanning beds (identified by long tubes that run the full length of the tanning bed) have a negative atmospheric pressure or "vacuum".
Both types of tanning units can be highly effective at producing a tan but in recent years there has been some confusion between salon owners and tanners when it comes to high pressure. Some salon owners advertise having a high pressure bed when technically speaking, they do not. Their goal is to deceive the customer, claiming equality of equipment; when in fact the difference in investment cost can be 10's of thousands of dollars per unit. The results and customer experience are also extremely different.
True High Pressure Tanning should provide the customer with desirable results in just a few sessions, and can be maintained with a few sessions per month. This is achieved by delivering a specific “recipe” of UV rays to the customer through special glass filters. Not all tanning units using High Pressure lamps are capable of delivering these results, some units are problematic in their design and use poor quality lamps. We use only the highest quality quartz lamps in proven equipment for the best possible results.
The type of lamps used in "Regular" low pressure tanning beds can be identified as long fluorescent tubes that run the full length of the unit. These lamps have a negative atmospheric pressure or "vacuum".
Most low pressure tanning units today (except vertical tanning units) may have one or more high pressure facials and several low pressure body tanning lamps, this combination is typical and doesn’t make the unit a “high pressure” or “medium pressure” tanning unit.
These "regular" tanning beds mimic natural sunlight and help build a "Base Tan". They vary in size and power and thus maximum session time and have a higher UVB output than a High Pressure unit. UVB stimulates Vitamin D and Melanin production. Clients with skin type II will prefer this type of equipment, as will customers who suffer from psoriasis. These machines produce more Melanin in the skin and delayed pigment darkening. The thickening of the epidermis and high Vitamin D production from this type of equipment may protect the skin from sensitivity in subsequent exposures like on a sunny vacation.
As the name "Hybrid" implies, this is the best of both regular and high pressure tanning technologies combined. Immediate color and delayed pigment combine for amazing bronze results! Our most discerning clients and those with skin type III or above will love this type of equipment. Clients should expect to tan once per week to maintain results.
Fantasy Tan created spray tanning in the early 1990’s. We use a mini spray gun and an airbrush for fine detail work. Others companies use big guns with vacuum cleaner motors to hose you down, but not us because detail is super important and we deliver an artistic and flawless tan every time. We have five solutions to use and blend for the perfect color to match your skin tone and desired darkness. The amino acids in your skin will respond naturally to the DHA and other complimentary ingredients in the tanning formula to produce the most beautiful custom sunless tan you’ve ever seen. Fantasy Tan never looks orange or unnatural like other companies that glob on more solution to give you darker results.
There are 8 levels of tanning in our salon, with 9 different styles of UV units to choose from. We also have Mystic Tan UV-Free tanning and the most natural airbrush spray tanning by Fantasy Tan. Enjoy relaxation and skin rejuvenation with our FDA cleared anti-ageing “Luniere Excel” providing both 633nm Red and 830nm Near Infra Red for both Collagen and Elastin production.
Our new pricing structure is simple, for each level you can choose to purchase one, five, or ten sessions, 30 days unlimited access, or a monthly membership with a minimum of four or twelve billings cycles. High Pressure and UV-Free monthly memberships require an additional per session fee that will be added to the monthly fee. It doesn’t matter what level you choose, we adjust the tan time (when necessary) according to the machine that you are using. You are never stuck! You can upgrade for the day, or change your account completely at any time. Your complete satisfaction is our goal!
Lumiere Light Therapy Treatments
Stimulate the production of collagen. Collagen is the most common protein found in the body. Collagen is the essential protein used to repair damaged tissue and to replace old tissue. It is the substance that holds cells together and has a high degree of elasticity. By increasing collagen production less scar tissue is formed at the damaged site.
Stimulate fibroblastic activity, which aids in the repair process. Fibroblasts are present in connective tissue and are capable of forming collagen fibers.
Increase vascularity (circulation). Circulation is increased by increasing the formation of new capillaries, which are additional blood vessels that replace damaged ones. New capillaries speed up the healing process by carrying more oxygen as well as more nutrients needed for healing and they can also carry more waste products away.
Stimulate the release of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the major carrier of energy to all cells. ATP provides the chemical energy that drives the chemical reaction of the cell. It is the body’s fuel.
Increase lymphatic system activity. Edema, which is the swelling or natural splinting process of the body, has two basic components. The first is a liquid part, which can be evacuated by the blood system, and the second is comprised of the proteins, which have to be evacuated by the lymphatic system. Research has shown that the lymph vessel diameter and the flow of the lymph system can be doubled with the use of light therapy. The venous diameter and the arterial diameters can also be increased. This means that both parts of edema (liquid and protein) can be evacuated at a much faster rate to relieve swelling.
Increase RNA and DNA synthesis. This helps damaged cells to be replaced more promptly. Reduce the excitability of nervous tissue. The photons of light energy enter the body as negative ions. This calls upon the body to send positive ions like calcium among others to go to the area being treated. These ions assist in firing the nerves thereby relieving pain.
Increase phagocytes, which is the process of scavenging for and ingesting dead or degenerated cells by phagocyte cells for the purpose of clean up. This is an important part of the infection fighting process. Destruction of the infection and clean up must occur before the healing process can take place.
